Queer/QuestioningThe "Q" in LGBTQ stands for different things depending on who you ask, so for the sake of being all inclusive, we will elaborate on both possible meanings.
Queer is a term that is rather difficult to explain because it means different things to different people. We've included the three most popular definitions.
Questioning is a term used to identify anyone who is unsure of their sexual orientation and/or is hesitant about using a label. Additional terms associated with queer/questioning: Asexual: A person who does not experience sexual attraction or does not have a sexual orientation. Demisexual: A person who does not feel sexual attraction without a strong emotional connection to another person. Pansexual: A person who experiences sexual attraction to many gender expressions. Polyamory: Refers to anybody involved in honest, non-posessive relationships with with multiple partners. This can include open-relationships, polyfidelity relationships, and sub-relationships (Green & Peterson). *Terms denoting gender expression and presentation are explained on this page. |
